Video Mashup

I found this project to be a lot of fun while also really challenging my abilities. I chose a lot of my videos from the archive site because it was super accessible. I used iMovie to do my video and I didn't realize how challenging it truly would be mostly downloading at the end because it is a big file and I tried to download it to my Vimeo account which was a disaster. The end of this project was a real struggle for me because it seemed like nothing was working and that usually is how it goes when you turn it in with ten minutes to spare. I though iMovie was super simple to use, I just downloaded my videos and cut them in there the way I wanted to because it was very similar to the way I cut videos when I do Twitter inserts for my job. You take the video shut off the audio cover it with yours a boom you got yourself a video. I chose to do mostly nature scenes as well as a little cute blurb of some puppies just because I thought they were adorable. I liked the different nature excerpts because I thought it went along with my song fairly well. I chose to do some fun and exciting ones when the song felt a little more upbeat and find some darker ones when the song dropped an octave. I really wanted to have a feel of all the cool things and scenery nature provides that sometimes we forget to take a step back and enjoy what we are seeing. I had trouble at first figuring out how I was going to cut my videos and what application I was going to use but the most simple one was iMovie because its already on my computer and I wont have to set up yet again another account. If I could change anything about this assignment there wouldn't really be anything because it was a fun playful experience and I really enjoyed getting to learn something new like this assignment. The most difficult part of this assignment for me personally was getting my video to upload to my blog. It was such a large file it took forever and I really didn't plan for that to happen. I also had a struggle with my computer because it cancelled me out of the archive website along with my blackboard so honestly I was just on the struggle bus with this assignment. I learned how to make a video mashup which was super cool and interesting as well as this was actually similar to my job and I didn't even realize that this would be something I was actually applying all the time. I really enjoyed this assignment overall.
