Reflection

I honestly didn't know what to expect coming into this course. I had a hard semester; I was taking 18 credit hours, had a part-time internship and was competing for our University of Toledo Softball team. I was turning in assignments at 11:58 p.m. as well as experiencing a ton of technically difficulties with my Wi-Fi and computer. But I can honestly say that this was my favorite class this semester. I found myself branching out and showing my friends and family the artwork I was creating. I was having fun with the assignments, learning a bunch of new things and pushing myself to work outside of my comfort zone. I think my favorite assignment by far was the website, I was wondered how those were made and it was really cool as well as fun to establish my own page. I think that we covered a variety of topics among the digital media world and this could personally help me with my own career. I want to do Athletic Communications with a major league sports team, this can include; social media, digital media and pictures to be taken. I think that by getting some sort of experience with digital media could really put me above other candidates that are also up for the same job. I think I will be more on the communications side of sports but this class has been an absolute blast to learn. I am really glad I chose to take this course as one of my electives this semester; the course work that I had to complete was totally worth all the stress that went into it. All of the assignments were interesting but I think what I will value the most is the confidence this course instilled within me. Before this class I always said I wasn’t artsy enough or crafty but I think after pushing myself past those limits I set on myself, I created some really unique and fun art that I am truly proud of. "You are who you surround yourself with." This rings true for many people and has definitely changed my life. I decided to change my group of friends my junior year of high school and I constantly am changing friend groups. These decisions come with the fact that I was happy with the friends I was with. They were mean, nasty, and selfish. I didn't think they were people whom I wanted to be surrounded with. They were always putting people down as well as making me feel bad about everything. What Makes You Happy?

Find something you love to do and makes you feel happy. For me it would have to be baking cupcakes, nothing special straight from the box but my secret is organic eggs. I like to bake a ton of cupcakes when I am feeling down, angry and even happy. It makes me feel satisfied when all my friends and I get together to decorate the cupcakes. I dye vanilla frosting into a bunch of different colors and sometimes even dye the cupcake batter just for fun. After the cupcakes are all decorated I will bring them to friends unexpectedly so that I could make someone else feel just as happy as I do about my cupcakes being beautiful. I know that this sounds simple and it just boxed cupcakes but I feel the happiest when I get to spend time with my friends or by myself doing something I enjoy. Video Mashup

I found this project to be a lot of fun while also really challenging my abilities. I chose a lot of my videos from the archive site because it was super accessible. I used iMovie to do my video and I didn't realize how challenging it truly would be mostly downloading at the end because it is a big file and I tried to download it to my Vimeo account which was a disaster. The end of this project was a real struggle for me because it seemed like nothing was working and that usually is how it goes when you turn it in with ten minutes to spare. I though iMovie was super simple to use, I just downloaded my videos and cut them in there the way I wanted to because it was very similar to the way I cut videos when I do Twitter inserts for my job. You take the video shut off the audio cover it with yours a boom you got yourself a video.
