Vector Graphics

This one was a tough one for me. I had my top image complete and I was finishing up my M on this Lotus flower image and it shut me out so I had to restart. Once I restarted it shut me out twice which really pissed me off. I finally finished the project which is late but I finished it. I went with two logos that really spoke to me. I am not quite a master at these applications we had to use but I tried and put some thought into the logos I made. I think the more you play around with the applications the easier it is. Also the videos were extremely helpful when I was choosing which application to use. Overall I enjoyed this assignment. Also, I tried to get this to not be underlined and every time I click the U it doesn't do anything so I think its time for a new computer or I need some serious help... lol

Texted-Based Art

Image
The converted image I created was an elephant. I thought it would be extremely interesting to see it with the numbers and symbols and I liked the way the black background looked rather than the white. Beside this text, I have added a softball that has my name in it to make out the picture. Softball has been my life ever since I can remember and I thought it was a really cool idea if I use my name within this photo to really express that this sport will always have a piece of me. Below this text I inserted my word art image, which is a heart with the words love, smile and happiness within it. I think it was just a nice little touch that I thought was super cute, loving and everyone deserved to see as well as, feel. As you can tell love is extremely emphasized and I really liked the look of it within this heart. This made me think of self-love. The heart has an arrow that comes around back into the center of the heart and I really translated that to love first starts fr...

Generative Art

I really enjoyed doing these two images. It was really interesting and fun to play around with Scribbler Too. I made a few images before I finally settled on these two that I wanted to publish in my blog. I think they both convey something completely different but still are interesting and I really enjoyed doing these two images the most. I thought that this application was extremely easy to use and I would gladly use them again and play around with more images. It took me a few tries to get the uploaded image the way I wanted and I event switched my images around four times until I decided I enjoyed this one the best. I thought that this was a great assignment.  I really enjoyed the flame artwork after my Adobe Flash wanted to work for me. I tried to download these with the other images up top but they didn't come through right away which really stressed me out.   "Flatline" I liked the use of colors with this one. I wanted to keep it simple and to the poin...

Video Mashup

I found this project to be a lot of fun while also really challenging my abilities. I chose a lot of my videos from the archive site because it was super accessible. I used iMovie to do my video and I didn't realize how challenging it truly would be mostly downloading at the end because it is a big file and I tried to download it to my Vimeo account which was a disaster. The end of this project was a real struggle for me because it seemed like nothing was working and that usually is how it goes when you turn it in with ten minutes to spare. I though iMovie was super simple to use, I just downloaded my videos and cut them in there the way I wanted to because it was very similar to the way I cut videos when I do Twitter inserts for my job. You take the video shut off the audio cover it with yours a boom you got yourself a video. I chose to do mostly nature scenes as well as a little cute blurb of some puppies just because I thought they were adorable. I liked the different natur...

Bechers' Grid

Image
For my Bechers' Grid I did types of alcohol. These were all bottles my roommates and I had and it was easily accessible for me as well as it looked kinda neat so I thought it would be interesting to photograph. I think all the different types of alcohol along with the different companies who produce these drinks made a perfect candidate for my grid. I found the hardest part to be all the layers and it took me a few tries to cut and paste the pictures onto the grid but I really enjoy at the grid turned out. I think the videos that were provided were extremely helpful and I probably watched them 1,000 times to make sure I did the grid correctly because I had messed it up so many times. Overall the assignment was easy because of all the directions and videos that made it simple to use.

Urban Landscape 2.0

I really enjoy learning how to use Animoto. This website was super simple and had click by click instructions that would walk you through your first time. I really enjoyed getting to choose my favorite pictures of my trips upload and arrange them the way I thought they would best fit into my video. I then changed the music around a little, I wanted something that was kinda fast paced but really had a vibe for urban landscape to get my point across. I added a title to the video to let everyone watching know that they are going to get a little taste of downtown. I wish the video could be a little longer to show my favorite of my edited photos that I got to play around with last week. Overall I really enjoyed using this website and I will not be surprised if I find myself using it again outside of class.

Urban Landscape

Image
I traveled around downtown Toledo, OH to capture the images I thought best represented the growth as well as destruction of the city. I found that when you look for art it finds you, in an old building, or new growth of trees. This picture is taken on a street in the growth of Promenade Park, where the purple of the horizon began to illuminate the entire sky. The lights on the trees contrasts with the stoplight that blazes red. I enjoyed learning about the megapixels of my camera that made this shot as sharp as it could be. I saturated the photo then contrasted around the image to darken the sky a little bit. I enjoyed using the Pixlr X because it was super simple to use and optimize my photo as best as I could.
